HAMPDEN GOP REORGANIZES

New Officers/New Website

The Hampden Township Republican Committee -- which consists of a Caucus and an Association -- met on Monday to elect a new slate of officers.  Additionally, the Party announced the formation of a new website.

The Caucus -- which consists of the elected Cumberland County Republican Committeemen and Women from Hampden Township -- unanimously elected Nate Silcox (Chairman), Tammy Stine (Vice-Chairman), and Jack Urling (Acting Secretary).  The Association -- which consists of interested Republicans -- elected the same individuals as officers, as well as Lynette Morrell (Treasurer).

Chairman Silcox noted the importance of Republican leadership.  “Hampden Township is the fastest growing municipality in the mid-state,” said Silcox.  “The Patriot News cited our low-tax rates, outstanding schools, and recreational opportunities as the reason for our growth.  This is in no small part due to the role of the Hampden Township Republican Committee that works to elect strong leaders.”

The Committee also announced a site -- www.gopcumberland.com/hampden.asp -- to provide the public with information about the Hampden Township Republican Committee.  “This is a new tool that will help our Party communicate our message better as well as to recruit new supporters,” said Vice-Chairman Stine.

Silcox thanked outgoing Chairman Jack Urling for his tenure.  “I have known Jack for over twenty years,” said Silcox.  “He has been a wonderful asset, not only to the Republican Party, but the community as a whole.  I am thankful for his leadership.”

On November 4th, voters will elect a new President and decide on a number of state races.  “We have a great candidate for President,” said Silcox.  “John McCain is a real profile in courage and I look forward to his steady hand in the White House.  Locally we are well-served by Senator Pat Vance and Representative Glen Grell.”

Silcox (past Vice-Chair) has been a Committeeman since 2006.  Stine and Morrell (past Secretary/Treasurer) have been Committeewomen for 10 and 8 years, respectively.
